Eileen Chang (1920–1995) is arguably the most perceptive writer in modern Chinese literature. The thirteen essays examine the fidelity and betrayals that dominate her alter ego's relationships with parents and lovers, informed by theories and methodologies from a range of disciplines including literary, historical, gender, and film studies. These relationships are frequently dramatized in plays and filmic translations of her work.

「蚊」之色變！登革熱傷經濟　東南亞年損775億

登革熱疫情似乎一發不可收拾，台大公衛院教授詹長權提出示警，他認為這波傳染恐怕會維持到12月底，現在已經出現民眾搶買防蚊液以及快篩試劑缺貨的情形，而這個被發現超過60年的流行病，感染人數一增加而勞動力就會下降，防疫費用高額支出、觀光產業也會因此受創，越靠近赤道的國家越慘，像東南亞一年就損失775億元。

民眾VS.藥局人員：「有賣防蚊液夏蚊嗎？沒有。」

就怕登革熱上身，民眾急著買防蚊液，只是塗抹噴灑在人體皮膚上的用藥，必須要有衛福部核准，含DEET、待乙妥成分的人用藥，像是這五大廠牌防蚊叮液、驅蚊液、妥邁霖、夏蚊等根本一瓶難求，下一步只能寄望疫苗幫幫忙。

民眾：「來抽血。」

人都到了衛生所，想快篩確認是不是登革熱，試劑卻大缺貨，疾管署緊急向國外採購一萬劑，最快9月11日才有1千劑跨海來台，下一批要等到9月14日，那時會有4000劑投入防疫，但就怕緩不濟急，因為登革熱疫情光在9月9日這一天，台南市多了507例、高雄市53例、桃園市6例，全台總共新增581例，重點疫區就是台南、高雄、屏東，確診病例超過98.9%。

台大公衛學院副院長詹長權：「以去年在高雄的情況，大概我們看得到的這個流行期，大概從第一個個案到沒有個案要將近半年，所以今年一樣來看可能也會持續到12月底。」

而這個流行病隨著氣候暖化、城市化的發展，到了2046年連台北、花蓮、台東都可能成為疫情高危險區，等於從南部延伸到北部變成跳躍式傳染，即便致死率不到1%。

但對經濟面的衝擊卻不容小覷，世界衛生組織最新估計，全球每年有3.9億人受到登革熱感染，進一步勞動力下降、防治費用增加、觀光產業受害，這些 間接損失佔了60%而比醫療支出還要高，尤其越接近赤道越危險，像是中南美洲年損690億元、東南亞也超過775億元，一隻蚊子所帶來的經濟隱憂，超越你我想像。
